My Philosophy

I believe in positive reinforcement and non-violence for managing undesirable pet behavior. I am an animal advocate and lover of all animals. I believe that animals have emotions and intelligence. Below is a selection of my favorite resources about animals.

Favorite Resources

The Five Freedoms

Britain’s Farm Animal Welfare Council drafted these five freedoms in 1965 to ensure we human animals meet the mental and physical needs of animals in our care.

The Human-Animal Bond

Humans all over the world find comfort in their relationships with their pets, especially during difficult time. In fact, pet ownership during Covid increased as mental health has deteriorated for many.

Dog is Love (Clive Wynne)

Clive Wynne suggests it’s time to stop stereotyping dogs as breed labels don’t mean much. I am a fan of his writings.

Dog and Cat Tales

I love these two 50+min documentaries from PBS on the journey of dog and cat domestication and what science says about our love to them.

Trans-Species Psychology

Dr. Gay Bradshaw established this field which advocates that non-human animals have brains, minds and emotions, just like all social animals.
